Service Body Ladder Racks
Load Runner racks for compatible service bodies combine overhead cargo space with removable crossbars and welded tie-down cleats. Choose the rack and extensions around the complete body configuration.

Load Runner / Service body
Work with the body.
Carry above it.
- 2-inch high-strength round tubing
- 50.7-inch width, inside to inside of truss tubes
- 2-inch square crossbars
- Standard center crossbar; removable center and rear crossbars
- Welded tie-down cleats
- Black low-gloss powder-coat finish
- Fits most GM, Ford and Dodge chassis, subject to body configuration
- Designed to accommodate single- and dual-wheel chassis
Can install on new or existing compatible service bodies and accommodate flip-top lids. The removable rear crossbar provides clearance for taller items in the bed.
Models & extensions
Start with the body length.
| Catalog model | Purpose / application |
|---|---|
| SBLR-8FR | Standard rack for an 8-foot service body on a regular-cab truck |
| SBLR-8FE | Standard rack for an 8-foot service body on an extended-cab truck |
| SBE9 | Rail extension kit for a 9-foot body; adds one foot to the standard rack |
| SBE11 | Rail extension kit required for an 11-foot body |
| SBEL | Rail extension kit required for low-profile bodies; also required on Ford Super Duty trucks with standard service bodies |
Service bodies vary in dimensions and configuration. This rack does not fit every body. Check the complete body and chassis combination before selecting a rack or extension kit.
Important fitment restrictions
Check the complete installation.
- Taillights must be vertical, externally mounted or bumper-mounted. Lower horizontal lights are acceptable.
- A Master Lock system may be incompatible; confirm fit before installation.
- Low-profile bodies require the SBEL extension kit, subject to the Ford Super Duty exclusion below.
- Not compatible with canopy tops.
- Ultra-wide openings may cause mounting brackets to protrude into the bed storage area.
- Will not fit fiberglass service bodies.
- Will not fit Ford Super Duty trucks with a low-profile service body.
- Ford Super Duty trucks with a standard service body require SBEL extension kits.
Load guidance
Capacity depends on the service body.
The rack is designed for an evenly distributed 1,000 lb load only when both catalog conditions are met:
- The ladder rack is installed consistently with the supplied installation instructions.
- The service-body manufacturer verifies that the body can carry a 1,000 lb load in addition to the mounted rack’s weight.
The rack’s load-bearing capacity is no greater than the service body’s capacity. If the body manufacturer cannot verify its load-carrying capacity, the catalog recommends a maximum 500 lb evenly distributed load. Do not treat the 1,000 lb rack rating as an unconditional vehicle or body rating.
Application details are from the supplied July 2020 catalog. Verify the exact body, chassis, model year and installation requirements before ordering.
